Every apprentice is screened on their portfolio and work history first. Check My Application for your next step. You can still browse everything below.

Everything you need to know about how the apprenticeship works, from signup to getting paid.
Creator Bound is The KAF Foundation's youth path. It starts with Creator Bound Scholar: anyone who comes to our classes, workshops, or events, with no account needed. This portal is for the next step, Creator Bound Apprentices (the Activate stage of Expose, Activate, Showcase). Screened apprentices get sent on real client jobs (photography, videography, DJ, editing, and web design) to build experience, a portfolio, and income. This is where that work gets posted, applied for, and managed.
Apprentices can also join the KAF Ambassador Internship: connecting people, building partnerships, and helping run events. Ambassador hours are volunteer and tracked separately from your paid jobs. Learn more on the Ambassadors page.
Submit your portfolio application under My Application: the services you offer, a portfolio link, and your work history. KAF staff review it within about a week and set up a quick call. Once your portfolio is approved, you sign the Independent Contractor Agreement (with a parent or guardian if you're under 18), KAF activates your account, and you can apply to any open job.
Browse open opportunities on the Opportunities tab, each one lists the category, compensation, and apply-by date. Once you apply, it moves to My Applications, but stays open for other apprentices too — multiple people can apply to the same opportunity. KAF staff picks based on fit and qualifications, with who applied first as a tiebreaker. The opportunity closes automatically once someone is accepted.
Each opportunity lists exactly what's expected: file counts, formats, deadlines, and anything else specific to that project. Read it fully before applying. If anything is unclear, reach out via the Contact page before you commit.
Paid opportunities list an amount upfront. Once your deliverables are submitted and approved by KAF staff, payment is sent within 5 business days via the method you provide after acceptance. Volunteer opportunities don't pay, but count toward experience and your portfolio the same way.
It happens, opportunities are competitive and often have a specific fit in mind. Not being chosen for one doesn't affect future applications. Keep your profile updated and keep applying.
The bell icon on Opportunities shows updates on your applications and new postings. Turn any of these on or off (new opportunities, application updates, announcements) in Settings.
